LispWorks 7.1 Professional does not run on the beta macOS Big Sur

I am not surprised, but thought I would pass on a warning to not install the beta

One more reason to move away from the Apple ecosystem.

Because some stuff does not yet run on an early beta of a major new version of an operating system?

If there are any incompatibilities remaining, I'm pretty sure that we will see a working LispWorks version, then.

Re: LispWorks 7.1 Professional does not run on the beta macOS Big Sur

Because the x86 is such a modern architecture? Some things are competitive only because of the exponential resources poured into updating them. Think of the internal combustion engine.

Now if we had the option of moving to a nanoprocessor based on the PDP-10 I might be ready for the nostalgia trip…

But I happily run lisp on ARM based processors already (Nvidia Jetson platform) and wouldn’t want to use them any other way… (well, maybe with better lisp-based GPU libraries than I’m aware of).
