History commands

Is there a way to invoke "History Previous" and "History Next"
without using the menu buttons? I tried doing

    M-x History Previous RET

but I got an error.

Re: History commands

I forgot to mention, that I was referring to the actions that the ‘Left’ and ‘Right’
buttons in the toolbar, would do in a Lisp buffer. So when one opens a file,
and you press the Left button, it takes you back to the last buffer visited.
While pressing the right button takes you forward.

You could invoke those by Meta-p and Meta-n, I believe, where Meta could be Alt.
