LW 7.1 and Quicklisp

Has anyone experienced strangeness installing Quicklisp with LW 7.1?  I've had a case where it complains (on the first run after installing Quicklisp, based on the quicklisp.lisp boostrap file) about an ASDF/SYSTEM-REGISTRY package not being found, but I then redid what I thought caused this and it was fine.  I obviously need to redo what I did more carefully including nuking all the cached FASLs that QL keeps.

I'm using the Mac 32 bit one.
