docking-layout :ratios?

Is it possible to get the same effect as :ratios with a docking-layout?

In my layout the last item has a search pane, and it ends up growing to 
encompass the full width of the interface. I'd much rather it be 
stationed to the far right of the layout and the item previous to it be 
the one that grows/expands instead.

The docking-layout class doesn't have :ratios (obviously since - by 
nature - not all the items are necessarily docked). I've tried setting 
the visible-max-width of my search pane, but that doesn't have any 
effect either.

Is this doable?
