Gestures in text-input-pane

Hi!

I have a text-input-pane with some gesture-callbacks defined. In some =
cases, I need to catch a key press (e.g. Backspace) in order to perform =
some actions, but then that key loses its ordinary function. Is it =
possible to somehow have the cake and eat it too?
