rich-text-pane: how to get the formatting?

Hello,

It seems to be a very basic thing, but I can't find how I can get the formatting from a rich-text-pane.  It seems the paragraph and character style can be set on the currently selected paragraph, though.

I would find very cumbersome to save the contents of the rich-text-pane to a file then read and interpret the RTF data.  What is the purpose of this component if you can't get a buffer to the text and a set of formatting commands?

I've read an older message with someone who had a similar problem when trying to set formatted text.

Does anybody have a solution to this problem?
