Why foreign name for structs?

Just out of curiosity: I'm looking at the documentation entry for
fli:define-c-struct and I'm seeing that one can define a foreign name
for the struct. Why would one want to do this? I could understand
that one would want to do this for documentation purposes, but could
there be any other reason?

Thanks,
Edi.
