focus for cocoa windows launched from non-gui lispworks

I saved a non-GUI version of LW with multiprocessing and console enabled. 

I'm trying to run the area calculator objc example from SLIME/Emacs. 

For some strange reason, keyboard focus stays in Emacs rather than the calculator window. 

This doesn't happen when running the example from the IDE. Is there a way to fix it in emacs?
