Creating libraries

Hi,
I am investigating the possibilities to call Lisp functions from a C+ 
+ program on Mac OS X and Windows. I use LW6.
1. What is the reason that Lispworks cannot create static libraries,  
while it can create dynamic libraries?
(I,ve noticed that you can create static libraries with ECL)
2. Why isn't it possible to create dynamic libraries for PowerPC  
Macintosh?
3. Any experiences to share?
