Laying out graphs in LW

Hi

I am revising an application (GOALIE) that I developed with LW.

The main graphics output of the application is the display of a DAG  
using a simple use of the builtin LW facilities for displaying trees  
(yes; they are very good to display trees).  If you try to display  
the classical "onion" shaped DAG (think of the CL type system) you  
are out of luck.

The machinery is all there, AFAIU, to change the "graph layout"  
procedure in order to get much better DAG displays.  Is there  
anywhere any documentation about how to go ahead and do this?
