splash-screen revisited

Hi,

Is there a way to let the splash-screen remain visible in a delivered  
application until it is programmatically closed?
I just learned that there is LISPWORKS-TOOLS::*LW-SPLASH-SCREEN-MIN- 
TIME* but I could not tell if this had any affect.
Also, splash screen seems to be of type LW-SPLASH-SCREEN in LWM and  
of type CAPI-SPLASH-SCREEN in a delivered mac application, but I  
could not find any respective classes in LWW.

My questions are:

1) Can I implement a programmatically closed splash screen in all  
platforms by defining  a very large value for LISPWORKS-TOOLS::*LW- 
SPLASH-SCREEN-MIN-TIME* and, by the time I want to close them, by  
collecting the instances of suitable types and closing them?

2) What are the interface classes for splash screens in LWW and LWL?

I would really like to use the provided way of defining splash  
screens for delivered applications.

i am new to lisp as i had gone through the basic of the lisp premitieves.I have to develop a automatic timetable generator of my college using lisp language.But i dont know
how to create a graphical user interface using lisp language.i am working on lispwork. i want to know how i can create the software with the graphical user interface .
one more thing i want to know , how could a embed my lisp application with visual basic or java
