Text in MULTI-COLUMN-LIST-PANEL in LWL

Hi

I am having a problem in LWL.  Text in MULTI-COMLUM-LIST-PANELs appears 
in a "greyed" out font, and I have not been able to set it, at least, 
to :BLACK.

Has anybody observed this?  Can it be fixed?
