changing images in push-buttons

Is it possible to dynamically change the image of a push button???  I 
know that in osX I can use a check button and toggle between  
:selected-image and :image, but then in windows it shows up with an ugle 
check box next to it... so is it possible to switch out the image of a 
push-button???
