display-popup-menu

hi,

I'm using display-popup-menu for displaying right-click menus in several 
pinboard layouts. 

Sometimes it's a little inconvenient that the interface keeps running
while the popup menu displays, i.e. in the time it takes for the user to
do a menu selection and release the right button. 

Is there an easy way to "suspend" the interface while the user selects
from the menu?
