Linux compatibility

We're currently using RedHat 7.1 for running LW 4.2.7. I'd quite like
to move to a newer version at some point, but we have, or may have, a
requirement for images to run on 7.1 for some time to come. Are there
likely to be compatibility issues if we build these images on the
newer systems? My guess is not, but I'd like to be sure as we don't
really have enough machines (or actually space...) to keep a 7.1
system around to build on.

Thanks

Tim,

I don't run RedHat, but I do use Lispworks 4.2.7 on multiple Debian
GNU/Linux versions without problem. In fact, I have an installer
program for Lispworks (lw-installer) in the Debian distribution.

Excepting Lisp machines, there there is better support and more Lisp
packages in Debian that any other operating system. I currently
maintain about 30 Lisp & Lisp-related packages in the Debian
distribution (http://b9.com/debian.html).
